  1. Why Not Do My Own Bookkeeping?
    A typical scenario:

    Marla is an attorney who charges her clients $250 per hour. However, every week she spends 4 hours working on the firms’ bookkeeping making sure clients are charged back for every expense incurred. At the end of the 4 hours, Marla already lost $1,000 of billable time. If Marla hired a bookkeeper at $30 per hour to complete the work, she would have only had an expense of $120.

    The small business owner will have more time to focus on development and generating revenue. I'll count the beans and balance the checkbook!
  2. Why Not Just Use My CPA?
    bravá bookkeeping is skilled in handling the day to day financial transactions and reporting at a fraction of the cost of a CPA. I specialize in the fundamental aspects of financial management & back-office support, and leave the tax prep to the accountants. I can work with your accountant to assist in year-end or quarterly tax preparations and reporting.
  3. Why Not Hire An Employee?
    Hiring an independent bookkeeper saves you money on payroll taxes, health and worker's compensation insurance & business liability. No more expense for non-productive breaks, vacation, sick days and personal time. You'll probably find someone who wants to work 40 hours per week more easily than a part-timer, but that's not impossible. At any rate, you'll be locked in to paying for a certain minimum amount of hours no matter how much work there actually is. You'll not have to worry about employee lawsuits. You can release an independent bookkeeper without raising your unemployment rates.

  4. How Much Do You Charge?

  5. Do I Have To Sign A Contract?
    No contracts are required. A simple engagement letter which stipulates the pricing that we agree to will be the only documentation you will be asked to sign. You may cancel the services at any time.
  6. What Are Your Qualifications?

    I am a graduate of INTUIT™ "Real World Training-Mastering QuickBooks" and a member of AIPB (The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers). I have over 15 years experience in small business bookkeeping and office administration, including working with 2 start up businesses from the planning stage to actual operations and financial account management. I have worked in Quicken, QuickBooks Basic, Pro and Premier versions for over 10 years. I am proficient in all Microsoft Office™ applications, including Access™, Outlook™, Word™ and Excel™, which provides you with additional skills for the optimum organization of your office.

  7. Will My Information Be Confidential?
    Privacy is absolute with bravá bookkeeping. All business information and practices will remain confidential. I do not share or sell any of your information to anyone.
  8. Do I Have To Be A Business Owner To Retain Your Services?
    Absolutely not! bravá bookkeeping offers services for Individuals, Small Business Owners and Busy Working Professionals.
  9. Do I Have To Buy Expensive Software?
    Probably not. You do, however need to have some version of accounting software available if you require the services at your location. QuickBooks offers an excellent alternative to purchasing software with their On-Line versions. All you need is access to the internet. I can even maintain your books without taking up valuable 'desk space" at your office by accessing your account via the internet. I can arrange pick-ups and drop offs(at no or little charge to you)for all documents and receipts needed for your accounting services.
